Temont’s journey with Envision highlights the power of individualized support, strong relationships, and belief in a young person’s potential.
Temont first began receiving services through Envision’s CITE program and later engaged in Mental Health services to further develop communication and emotional regulation skills. From the beginning, the focus was on helping Temont better understand his emotions, express himself clearly, and build confidence in everyday situations.
Through consistent support and therapeutic guidance, Temont strengthened his ability to communicate his needs and feelings. As these skills developed, he became more comfortable participating in community activities and navigating new environments with support. Envision’s team worked closely with Temont and his family to ensure he felt encouraged, understood, and successful every step of the way.
Over time, Temont gained greater independence and confidence. Where he once required multiple staff to support him in the community, he has gradually transitioned to more independence in the community.
Today, Temont goes out into the community with minimal support and takes an active role in planning activities that interest him. He enjoys having a voice in his choices and continues to build problem-solving and self-advocacy skills.
Temont is also deeply engaged in his personal growth. He participates actively in therapy, communicates openly, and works through challenges with maturity and insight. His progress reflects not only the skills he has developed, but also his determination and willingness to grow.
As he prepares to graduate from high school, Temont is looking ahead with excitement. He is currently interviewing with Project SEARCH, an important step toward future employment and independence. This milestone represents how far he has come and the bright future ahead of him.
